The Bachelor of Safety Engineering provides an education which equips students with a range of competencies which support a career as Health and Safety Practitioners in both the private and public sectors. It is anticipated that such a practitioner will have the ability to make a contribution to their organisation, community, profession and wider society.
This program prepares students for a variety of careers involving potential hazards and hazardous situations. It provides specialist areas including health and safety laws and regulations, hazardous materials, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, fire prevention practices, environmental regulations.
The Master of Safety Engineering focuses on the needs of businesses and organizations to effectively manage complex environmental safety and health issues in the workplace. The program addresses vital issues beyond traditional regulatory compliance, as risk management, environmental stewardship and sustainability concerns receive increasing attention from employers, communities and government.
The program has been designed to offer extensive education, knowledge and skills in decision making and problem solving of OSH issues.This course also allows the student’s development in analytical, communication and writing skills with the requirement of the dissertation in their field of study. The successful completion of the program enables the students to cope with the rapid globalization as OSH professional in cross-disciplinary areas (ergonomics, industrial hygiene, OSH management systems, occupational health).

The pursuit of knowledge through research higher degree programs not only leads to a well-educated society and a highly trained professional work force, but also contributes significantly to the university research and scholarship. The aim of the PhD program is to provide research training in a manner that fosters the development of independent research skills in candidates.
These skills include the capacity to formulate a significant problem, to develop mastery of appropriate conceptual and methodological skills, and to relate the research topic to a broader framework of knowledge in the relevant disciplinary area. The doctoral thesis provides evidence of a contribution to knowledge with a level of originality consistent with 3-4 years of full-time study and research training. It also demonstrates a candidate's capacity for critical analysis and that he or she is capable of pursuing scholarly and programmatic research.
